1) We have had several outsourcing projects fail. What is Avion's strategy to mitigate the typical issues arising out of offshoring?
Avion understands that offshore outsourcing or offshoring is not just about sending a project to a developer miles away and expecting it to be delivered back successfully. Like any IT project, outsourcing requires active project management strategies from both sides of the table to successfully execute a project.  We realize that the most crucial ingredient to successful project management are open channels of communication. We have systems of daily status reports (which detail the work done on a project  on that specific day, in both, a text and visual form), daily conference calls between clients and the project manager and weekly project update calls. We also have a system of daily deliverables in order to ensure that there are daily developmental targets to achieve. This helps avoid last minute surprises for both the clients as well as ourselves. All the daily conference calls are followed up with a “Minutes of meeting” which are sent to the client. Any changes to the scope are  governed by a “Change Management Procedure”.

2) Do your developers speak good English?
All our developers are well versed in written and spoken English. We also conduct in-house accent training classes for our developers in order to help them achieve a “neutral” accent.

3) Do you outsource work to third parties?
We do not outsource work to third parties. All the development is done in-house by our own employees. Yes, but only in extreme circumstances. What is extreme? Please refer to our contract agreement.

4) Are you interested in long-term relationships?
We love long-term relationships. We prefer a stable marriage to a one-night stand. We also offer volume discounts on long-term projects.

5) We have several projects that we would like to get offshored (or we have a steady stream of projects). Do you have the capabilities to ramp up operations at a short notice?
We have the ability to ramp up operations from 1-15 developers within a time-span of 15 days. We are interested in creating long-term relationships with our clients and can offer development at a discounted rate.
